sleepy sunday stuff

ok i'm not being very good at the blogger thing at the moment
i'm not posting very often and i'm checking other people's blogs even less...
however i have had a quick trek through blogs today and doing the comments thing where i thought i had something to say

anyway that aside
life for me has been pretty good
very quiet weekend, nice and chilled...

friday the weather took a turn for the worse...but seeing as i was away overnight with work i didn't know about it. it took me over 5 hours to get back to the depot, a trip that normally take 3 hours. part of this was on the motorway, which was closed due to being underwater... part of it was because the village where the depot is and the pub where i work is had a river flowing down the high street...
i was supposed to have started work at 6 in the pub, i drove past it at half 7, i called the boss to say that i could get back if he needed me to, but it would be in the van because my car wouldn't get through the flood... and seeing as the pub carpark was underwater it was going to be a bit of a nightmare. he said not to worry about it because there was 3 inches of water in the kitchen and although the pub was open, it was really quiet because no-one could get there!
so i went out and had a few drinks instead...got in sometime around half 2 in the morning...it was good
spent all day yesterday chillling with films again, watched ghost rider (very cool), anchorman (funny) and xxx2 which i've still got to finish
i also played guitar hero again for about 2 hours... there's just something about the game that means you can't sit down and play it, you just have to be standing up
it's uber cool though
yeah, then i went out drinking again...although i wasn't as late home and i didn't drink as much last night either
but it was needed that i went out and managed to blow off a little steam

before you ask, i've still not got my hands on a copy of the new potter book...i've been waiting to let the stupid numbers of people queuing to buy the book die down a bit, which i know means that others of you out there will have read it, so please don't be spoiling it for me otherwise there will be an ass whooping heading your way!

a whole big pile of randomness

ok
i've got half hour before i need to leave to go to the pub for work...

anyway, that aside, i've got to air a few things
work:
on thursday i went to work...the white van job...only to find that the lorry that delivers to us was running late, i normally leave the depot around half 5 in the morning, that day i left 2 hours late because after the lorry. and the fact that mine was one of the last on the lorry...partly because i'd hepled everyone else ot load up their vans and they'd all buggered off without helping anyone else! so i get to what would be my usual first drop 3 hours after i normally do...i spent the rest of the day trying to catch up with myself so that all the normal stores got their drops when they usually do...i managed it, but i skipped every store that didn't have a delivery. then on friday, breakfast was late as usual, i'm getting fed up with that, but when i went down to my van, the tyre had gone down overnight! i kicked the wheel out of frustration. i found the jack from in the van and the spare tyre (the jack wasn't big enough, the spare is going bald) not that it mattered because once i'd undone all the wheel nuts, i still couldn't get the wheel off the van. i had to call my boss to get someone out to me to help me to take the wheel off...when that bloke eventually got to me i was already 90 minutes late again!! and i'd wrecked my jeans because the jack was covered in oil and it was raining.
enough said!

i was late on friday because of the other job
but it wasn't that busy

which is a good thing

i bought guitar hero 2 the other day :)
i've not had chance to play it yet though

i also bought a few dvds, not had time to watch them yet either...

i had a long chat with linny last night
that was awesome :)
and she's finally signed up to facebook too...

getting quite a few people chatting to me on facebook, it's great because some i've not spoken to since 2000 or there abouts

anyway it's nearly time for me to head to work, i need a shave and a wash before i head off too

i spent a lot of yesterday feeling a bit lost and lonely
i say a bit, i mean quite a bit
like really badly lonely

it's a feeling i get a LOT
and it sucks

anyway
i've no idea what's going on in my life at the moment, there are a few things that i'd really like to get off my chest, but i've not idea when i'm going to get time to sort them out...
at the moment i'm considering giving up working in the pub, it's changed there, and it's not for the better. i still enjoy it to an extent, but it's starting to get me down more and more, part of that is because of the hours that i'm working left right and centre too though, so we'll see.
i'm getting my tongue pierced tomorrow i think (well hopefully)
and i'm getting the latest tattoo finished off in a couple of weeks too :)
there's so many things that i want to do at the moment too, but i'm just struggling to get myself settled and i need to do that before i can think about doing these other things...

it's a bit pants at the moment

i've not been about much and i've still not sorted the phone line or anything in the new place, although i'll be dealing with that this week hopefully

went out last night and it got very messy
i got very drunk
it was an awesome night out though
but very very messy

felt it this morning when i got up

anyway work is a bit mental
but it's nice to be working
and on a monday and thursday evening it's nice ot be able to sit at the beach and eat my fish and chips or whatever take away i'm having that night :)
the pub work is going well too

on the pub front i passed the exam i tok about 3 weeks ago which means i can now apply to hold a personal license, which is just another step on the ladder to running a pub :)

still thinking about where i should go on holiday this year...probably end up going someplace in the uk at this rate...and only for the day!

anyway peeps, it's lunch time and i've got to go and mow the lawn for my mum too, so i'll catch up with you all sometime soon i promise

anyway i went out today on my own again and it's odd...when i'm on my own in the van things are ok
all except for the stupid satnav...which today said i was off-roading (in a van, doing 60mph)
don't you just love it when people don't update things for you?

anyway, i heard back from the job interview i had last week, they chose someone with more accounts experience...fair do's, i don't mind
i spoke to the landlord yesterday, he got rid ot the new chef at the weekend, and i told him that seeing as i was seriously considering getting into the trade a lot more i was interested in the chef's position...he's waiting to hear back from someone else first, but thinks i could do it easily... i'll keep you posted on that

i'm not going to be able to HNT tomorrow, until late in the day...although there's a chance that i might appear on a different site in true HNT fashion...more on that later too

it's sunday and i've lept really well the last two nights
it's been bliss
and better than that i've managed to go out both nights and have a good time while only having 2 pints...

so friday night i was supposed to be going out with mates from the pub, we were going into abingdon...but at the same time we were starting in abingdon...which is confusing i'm sure.
anyway i've been taking all sorts of tablets to try and ease this cold away, none have really been working much, but it is getting better... so due to this and the fact that i wasn't really in the mood, i drove over and thought that maybe if ihave a few drinks then i'll kip on the sofa again, or i could drive home later. i chose the latter
i got called weak through facebook because i didn't go out all night...which is fair enough, i called the guy weak last weekend for the same reason...lol

then last night i met up with my soon to be housemate and had a drink with her
she's getting very excited at the prospect that we're becoming housemates, and to be honest i'm looking forwad to it too. she's going to help me find a woman by vetting any that i introduce to her, so i think i'm going to add that into the plan!
we also joked about having dinner parties and things like that, you know, generally being civilised and cultured adults...yeah i can hear you all laughing from here...

get this too, i spent 3 hours emptying the loft yesterday, rooting through years and years worth of rubbish, or treasure depending on how you look at it. i found records, vinyl 7", 10" and 12" stuff dating back to the early 60's if not a little older. i found a record player from the same era that i'm dying to fix and see if i can get it working again...think of the money i could make from these things!!!
i also found my old school reports from when i was like 7...how freaky is that? according to one report at the age of 7 i have a reading age of 9 and a half...see i was intellegent at one point!

anyway, seeing as it's sunday, i've got roast dinner today :) and it's not going to be long, so i'm going to sign off in a minute...
just a warning, because this driving job is proper rubbish, it's unlikely that i'll be blogging on a daily basis any more :( and seeing that this week i've agreed to do a stupid amount of cover at the pub as well, i'm not sure when i'll be able to blog...however when i get my new home (under 2 weeks now) and get it up and running and will likely blog whenever i can...

ok so its friday
i've done the course
and i've done the first week as a white van man
and in all honesty i can say that the course was by far the more interesting of the pair!

and i've seen the wrong side of 7am more times this week than i'd like to mention...
and i've also seen the wrong side of midnight most nights as well

still it's all for the plan

(have abridged the plan slightly and ignored previous plans which had a step 4 which was get woman, this has been put on hold until i've decided that it's time that it should go back on there as i'm having as much trouble as you are keeping up to date with my own whims...)

anyway
i can now check off the first item
and seeing as i shall be moving in just over 2 weeks, i'll soon be checking off the second one as well
once they are out of the way and i've got things settled with the job front (i reckon about a month to six weeks) i'll start thinking about where to go on holiday too...
i'm thinking a return to the states might be good
i'm also thinking about doing something different though, so something like a trekking holiday somewhere hot and where i can do stuff other than get drunk and get sunburnt

anyway i've not had much in the way of interesting things happen to me this week
although at the course yesterday we had a 40 minutes examination at the end of the day, it was one of them multiple guess question papers... i finished in 10 minutes and got up and left much to the shock/horror of other people in the room... i was allowed to, before you all think anything else... anyway hopefully next week i'll find out if i can apply for my personal license (which will legally allow me to sell and authorise the sale of alcohol within a designated premises (which must also have a license)) and from there i'm going to look into getting into the pub trade properly, you know, actually running my own pub
i think i could do that and i'd enjoy it too...

right then peeps

reporting in for some monday madness

ok i've spent most of the day pissing around using a MAC :(
but generally the new job was ok, they're paying me and i've got at least 3 days a week for about 3 months...which will give me plenty of time to look for a job on the other two days, and also give me a chance to slot in interviews without having to take time off :)
i text woja this morning to say that the new job was crap
in fairness it was mainly because i was cold (no heating on in the office for some dumbass reason) and the guy showing me the ropes is self taught and doesn't like the idea that things can be done in other ways...ways that i'm used to doing them...which are a little quicker and more intuiative. anyway, once i got settled into it andcracked on with things it was pretty good, i felt as though i was accomplishing things and when i'm in next it'll be better because the guy who was showing me the ropes is on longterm sick as of tomorrow.
the only issues i've got are it's only 3 days a week and the money isn't great.
but like i said, it's income and it's also giving me time to look for other jobs and do other things in the meantime :)

there seemed to be some confusion over an answer in the previous post/meme in "girlfridn/boyfriend" i answered with "i think so"...
this means that it's not something we've discussed...as in what out relationship is...at the moment it's just a lot of texting and trying to arrange time to meet up again, and a lot of flirting and getting to know one another
it's early days people, too early to decide if it's she's a girlfriend...

i watched 4 films over the weekend...i suspect that i'll be commenting on all of them at some point (probably tomorrow)

the new chef started last night, i felt a bit sorry for him, i invited him out to the bar after he'd finished for a pint in the hopes that some of the locals would chat to him and all that, but even the landlord hardly said a word to him while he was out there...but he seems nice enough, just a little shy

saturday night at the pub was stupidly busy, we took a shed load of money and were fully booked for meals and it was mental trying to keep up with what was going on in there...

i'm sure there was something else i was going to go on about, but it gone straight out of my mind now

i'm edging very close to the 500 posts mark (i think this one is #497!!!)
what should i do to celebrate my big 500?

after an awesome night on friday
a much needed night it has to be said as well
i think the lack of sleep mixed with one or two other situations has put me in a not so good mood again. however, i am safe in the knowledge that i'll come out of it in a day or so and then everything will be all good again...i hope

i seem to be getting really clumsy at the moment, in the lasst week, i've broken 4 glasses and a coffee cup at work, if i continue i'm going to have to start paying to work there...

so it's monday

i'm on lunch duty all week again this week
nice and easy, i hope, we shall see though, but it does mean that i'm on fulltime hours again this week. it also means that i'm working split shifts 2 days as well though
and i've got to put up with what might be the manic friday lunch again (last week wasn't too bad, the week before was much worse, but i was on the bar then instead)

anyway i've got things on my mind again...probably best they stay there at the moment...maybe i'll let you in to a secret, but maybe not

Update:
feeling over tired still, fell asleep in front of the tv a little while ago, no biggie though, i'm always doing that, you know you get comfy, you're tuned into what you've got on the screen, but ont 100%...and then you wake up and it's the end credits...
feeling more chilled than i was this morning, part of that might have something to do with the pint i had after lunch though...and it was guiness again, not sure what's going on there, i seem to have started drinking it though. lunch was fairly busy, it was good too, right up to the point where i went to put the bowl containing a jacket potato with melted cheese on it onto the plate with the side salad and all that...forgetting that i'd just taken it out form under the grill, GENIUS!!! i've burnt the tips of my fingers in doing that, nothing major at all, but they carried on stinging all through service because every time i turned around i found another ticket that either wanted a jacket potato or a toastie...so i didn't get a chance to let them cool down properly (i know i'm supposed to run them under cold running water for at least 10 minutes, but i didn't get chance, kitchens can be busy places!).
eagle eyes (lisa) spotted something in the tags and commented about it...go look

trials and tribulations

so yesterday we went and saw and conquered
we did eat food to increase our brain power (it failed)
and we also joined forces with a team called william d...to create a team called "super head" (i have no idea where it came from or why we were called it)
we ended the evening in joint second after winning 36 packets of chocloate covered raisins (poppets) which got shared out between the 6 of us
we did pretty well :)
we abused a friend of mine who's usually there and pretty good on the sports round to get more of the sports answers than we'd have got otherwise...so many thanks go out to him

been at work once already today, got another shift later too...split shifts are no fun, but have to be done...and to be honest they are pretty easy
got an interview possibility for tomorrow
no idea what for though

friday funtime

hey hey peeps
it's friday and i'm late posting for some reason!
yesterday's interview was pretty good, obviously though because of the women involved with the interview on wednesday and the fact that i was interviewed by a bloke yesterday i think i know which one i'd prefer ;)
although the interview yesterday could lead to a job that pays more, i thikn that the one from wednesday would lead to a better job...and that's not because of the women
worked in the pub last night, found out that my friend the chef was sacked on monday. short story is that he wanted the day off, he was told that he could only have it if he found his own cover because the landlord had already made plans. cover was found, but the guy who was due to cover broke his ankle the other week, so couldn't do it. chef was told on friday (according to the notices at work) that he couldn't have the time off as a result. he called in on monday morning and said that he wasn't coming in and would be back in on tuesday. landlord found this unacceptable as chef is a department head and was let go.
this is a shame, because chef is bloody good at what he does, but i know that he's been unhappy there for a while too. anyway as a result landlord is now spending a lot of time in the kitchen, so more hours are available on the bar/waiting. so i agreed to do them.
i respect chef and his choices, and if i had a full time job i might back him up a bit more. but, and i hope he understands this, at the moment i've got to take all the work i can, especially after what the benefit people told me on tuesday (go back and have a look if you want the details). so as much as i feel i might be letting him down by almost siding with the landlord, i've got to do things for me. I've put other people first in the past and that caused a lot of heartache and shit for me, which i'm still dealing with now. right now and for the forseeable future, i'm number one priority, i'm doing things for me now and that's the bottom line.
that means that i worked lunchtime today, easy work, although we were expecting a rush that didn't really happen. the other barmaid has only been on the bar for 3 weeks, and the waitress started last week...but we did well and we were spot on with the till too :)

i feel like it's going to be a long weekend, i've got a pile of things that i need to sort through and get rid of the crap and deal with the rest. i've been invited out clubbing by the girl who split with me because i don't like clubbing...yeah that doesn't make sense to me either, but apparently i'm a good laugh to be around so she' like me to come out with her and her sister...i'm undecided, although i think i know what i'll say...thanks, but no thanks

i now have friends on myspace and facebook (look back a couple of days it's all there in b&w) but remember peeps this is my home and this is where i'm more comfortable saying things and showing off the joke that is my body
