ok today i'm going to go through a pet peeves and then a a few other things
pet peeve; rubber-necking...
now i understand that as a human we have an overwhelming urge to gawp at anything on the side of the road that may be vaguely interesting, especially if it's an accident, even moreso if there's a chance of seeing something that you don't want to see...
but as a van driver, it's got to be one of the most irritating things that is out there on the roads. example; today i was driving along minding my own business, while playing attention to the road obviously, when all of a sudden everything grinds to a halt...as we inch forward some flashing lights come into view, orange ones, not blue ones, so i know it's probably just a breakdown, which is was, but it took an additional 15 minutes to get past this
now i have no problem sitting in traffic for a legit reason, i'm paid by the hour...but to sit in traffic because the 100 cars that are infront of me want to gawp at a car that's gone into the back of another car...that bugs me
i run into rubbernecking at least once per motorway per day, but on the m25 it's more like an hourly thing, if not every 20 minutes
to continue with the flood theme...
it rained yesterday while i was working, some of the paper goods i was delivering got wet, but that was ok as long as the suits didn't get wet...which they didn't, well not the ones i was yet to deliver, the ones i'd been collecting and just throwing into the van (on the floor, they had to go there because ihad no hanging space for them...which was compounded by the volume that i was collecting compared to the number that i had to deliver)... it rained so much that my hotel room started to leak, not only from the ceiling, but also around the window...but this didn't start to happen until i was just about to sleep...typically!
add this to the fact that the power tripped out so i couldn't watch the tv...
i wasn't having the best of evenings!
while driving home i was reminded of the following song (the video is one someone made and posted on youtube) ok the story goes as follows
while driving i felt something hit my head, only something small though and as i looked down to the seat between my legs i spotted something, although i wasn't sure what it was i brushed it onto the floor. a few seconds later i happened to look out the window and noticed something small on my shoulder, when i had a proper glance at it i noticed what i thought to be a very still bee, this made me jump and it fell off, again dropping to the seat between my legs...only this time it roled a little further and ended up underneath me. needless to say this freaked me out a bit, i didn't really want a bee that close to my meat and two veg, especially while i was driving, but because i was driving i had to try and keep a cool head about me and not flap around incase it stung me and that while i was driving. not cool. as luck would have it i was coming up to a lay-by so i pulled in and stopped. before i eased myself up from the chair, i picked up something to squash it with, afterall a dead bee is easier to deal with than a live one. so i rose slowly from the seat not wanting to get the bee agitated or anything like that lest it sting me and still being confined in the dab of the van, i really didn't want an angry bee. and i was shocked by my findings...it wasn't a bee after all...well not a whole one anyway. i found a headless bee. a few minutes later i found the little unknown thing that had landed on my seat the first time, and it was the creature's head!
ive not idea how it got decapitated...but it was weird
and it led me to sing the following all day!
anyway i need to go to bed, i'm only on chapter 8 of the new potter book :(

ok
so
if curiosity killed the cat
and a cat has nine lives
you think it'd learn not to be so curious after the first couple of times
unless of course it's more like a buddist thing...a cat that believes in re-incarnation, so it actually has nine lives rather than metaphorically having nine lives...but even then, the buddhist monks believe that when the dalai lama passes on to the next life the new dalai lama remember certain aspects of his previous incarnation, one that springs to mind is the walking stick that the previous incarnation used.
so based on this, if a buddhist cat were to get curious and therefore die as a direct result of it's curiousity, the next incarnation of the cat will (hopefully) remember that whatever it got curious about last time killed it...
i guess that wouldn't stop it from being curious, only from being curious about what killed it the first time.
now consider over time the cat become curious about something else, and subsequently dies as a direct result and gets re-incarnated...it'll now be wary of two things
consider overtime the cat does this several times...
you'd think that it'd learn to be less curious about things
oh well
that was pretty random wasn't it
there's still the issue of the wedding as well (below)

and so it's done
ok well honestly nothing's been done for a while
in fact i've done next to nothing all weekend...and that's just how it should be!
yesterday i went searching for a skateboard, no major reason apart from wanting one and thinking that it would be an easier way of getting round than walking everywhere...yes i am that lazy! but i couldn't find one, i found a shop that sold decks, trucks and wheels and all that, but being the lazy sod that i am i didn't get all the parts
i nearly bought a nintendo Wii...thought it would be fun, but didn't thought that i should save my money, but it's still there in my mind :)
also was debating on getting guitar hero 2 for the PS2 with the guitar thing as well, but once again decided not to...
in the end i bought a drink and a kitkat...lol
last night i was going to stop in with jenfer, watch a film and just chill...which we did, then i went out with chunk, who i've not seen for months and we had a really good night out, i got drunk, but not wasted which is always a bonus. and for the first time in ages i actually just switched off and enjoyed myself
so yeah :)
it's better than it has been
part of my wishes i'd got a wii
part of me wishes i'd got guitar hero
all of me knows that saving money was the sensible option!
btw hi to the peeps sneaking in from facebook...you know who you are :)
and hi to the person from bedfordshire who checks in fairly regularly...

disjointed ramblings
lots of little bits and pieces today i guess
i got one easter egg...that was nice :) not eaten it all yet, in fact i only just started it today
(there's a pic of me and it over at the 365 place)
had to work yesterday even though it was a bank holiday and all of the independent places that i should've delivered to were shut, hell half the other stores weren't prepared for me either! everywhere i went yesterday didn't have any returns, nor did anywhere i was at today either apart from 2 places...
i spent yesterday afternoon on the beach...it was a stoney beach though so i didn't get sand anywhere thankfully :)
keep driving past heathrow airport, it's really making me want a holiday! (suggestions still welcome)
i miss doing the quiz :(
but work takes precedence
i've got that cold again :(
it looks like i'm not going to shake it until hayfever season kicks in with avengence and then i'll be plagued by that too...
dammit!
i move this weekend, i've not even thought about packing anything up, gave the ex some boxes for her to pack my stuff into, think it pissed her off a little that i'm moving and want all my furniture and saucepans and crockery and kitchen stuff and all that...but she knew i'd find someplace eventually and that i'd want it all when i did.
got sent a sound clip of a friend of mine singing a song by paulo nutini last night, it was really good, although she'll hate me for saying that, she's made me promise that i won't play it to anyone. i keep my promises
sorry, i want people to hear it
i bought season 2 of lost the other day (didn't watch it when it was on the tv because the ex couldn't understand it and wanted me to tell her what was going on or change channels all the time) started watching that last night in the hotel (the rooms have all got tv/dvd players :)
also bought myself a PSP yesterday, i had some spare cash sloshing around and though it would be something of a treat and it'll keep me entertained while i'm away for work...which is did this morning while i waited 45 minutes for a shop to open...
apart from being ill again, life isn't doing too badly :)
hope everyone had a great easter
i promise to be over ot everyone's blogs this week if i can...

ok lodas to report, things that i've been sitting on a while
ok maybe a while is a little bit of an exaggeration
things that i've been sitting on since tuesday...
1.) i have a full time job...the driving one that i was on about yesterday. this is a full time job, that's the important bit. the print shop work isn't full time, and as such wasn't helping things out as much as i'd have liked. however, i'm going to keep doing some work for the print shop on an ad hoc basis because it's fun work and it's not like i can't do it :)
2.) i've found a flat to live in, and although it's a bit on the less desirable side of things, once it's been made a little homely i'm sure it'll be fine. and i've got a flat mate to live there as well, making things a little easier for both of us :)
3.) things on the woman front are as always a little weird, i think that there's a possibility of someone coming along and things will be ok...but we shall see what happens there, i'mnot holding my breath though
so all in all the plan looks to be going ahead :)
wuhoo!!
anyway that's all really, i promise something fun for tomorrow peeps :)
take care
