good friday good times

today i slept in and it was good
yesterday i worked from 5am to 9pm behind the wheel all day
things have been a bit mental this week what with working 2 jobs!

anyway, it's good friday which means that i've got the day off
so i'm going to head out on my bike this afternoon :)

right...i'm sure there's loads of things i've got to up date everyone on, but i can't remember anything for it :(

friday funtimes

ok so its friday
i've done the course
and i've done the first week as a white van man
and in all honesty i can say that the course was by far the more interesting of the pair!

and i've seen the wrong side of 7am more times this week than i'd like to mention...
and i've also seen the wrong side of midnight most nights as well

still it's all for the plan

(have abridged the plan slightly and ignored previous plans which had a step 4 which was get woman, this has been put on hold until i've decided that it's time that it should go back on there as i'm having as much trouble as you are keeping up to date with my own whims...)

i can now check off the first item
and seeing as i shall be moving in just over 2 weeks, i'll soon be checking off the second one as well
once they are out of the way and i've got things settled with the job front (i reckon about a month to six weeks) i'll start thinking about where to go on holiday too...
i'm thinking a return to the states might be good
i'm also thinking about doing something different though, so something like a trekking holiday somewhere hot and where i can do stuff other than get drunk and get sunburnt

anyway i've not had much in the way of interesting things happen to me this week
although at the course yesterday we had a 40 minutes examination at the end of the day, it was one of them multiple guess question papers... i finished in 10 minutes and got up and left much to the shock/horror of other people in the room... i was allowed to, before you all think anything else... anyway hopefully next week i'll find out if i can apply for my personal license (which will legally allow me to sell and authorise the sale of alcohol within a designated premises (which must also have a license)) and from there i'm going to look into getting into the pub trade properly, you know, actually running my own pub
i think i could do that and i'd enjoy it too...

that friday feeling

ok it's friday, yesterday was a nice and chilled day for me, i didn't work last night in the pub and well, pretty much everything i did yesterday was chilled and relaxed :)
i sat back and watched my name is earl, i'm now about half way through season one and i think it's awesome, i sat and watched some of the special features as well. i think it's an awesome show and i'm gutted i missed so many of them when they were shown on TV...anyway 'm making up for it now :)
also watched casino royale, the latest bond films, and i've got to say i was suitably surprised, i enjoyed it loads. they made a load of references back to the older bonds, including the nice use of an old aston martin and the sexual innuendo laden names (although i can't remember what it was that he called her now...) and for being an institution, the blond bond did himself proud. it also helped out with a few things that me and a couple of mates have discussed in the past (like why there can be some many different bonds and all that...we came up with it being a code name that's passed around a bit...seems logical now too)
today i went into the printshop and did some work, but the amount that was in would've taken the old guy most of the day and probably some of monday too...but it took me 3 hours, and seeing as there was nothing else left for me to do i packed up and finished for the day :)
i think i'm going to go in on tuesday over there and finish up a couple of things and then i'm all done as i start a full time driving job on monday (not working tuesday because i've got to go to the dentist and i've got an interview late in the afternoon, not working thursday either because i'm going on a course to get my personal license for the pub :) )
should also hear back in monday as to if i've been successful with the rental application, which could mean that this time next week i'm flapping around trying to make sure that i've packed everything ready for moving...

friday funtime

hey hey peeps
how's it all going with you all?
things with me are not too bad at all
i think i've conquered my fear of the dentist...so life is all good
although my mouth is really sore today (it's not the only bit of my that's sore, but more on that in a minute...)
so i had my 2nd wisdom tooth out yesterday and one of the 5 fillings that i need done. only one because basically i have that many issues with the dentist that i hate going and usually when i need to have work done i have to be sedated...but in trying to get over this i went in yesterday and had the work done without sedation...just the local needle thingy and that's it
and i coped quite well :)
just aches today because of the removal...

anyway, my backside is sore!
now there's a decent reason for this...
i bought myself a new bike, and i rode the 5 miles to work this morning
it felt good, although my arse hurts because i've not been on a bike for about 5 years! and i'm unfit, so the plan is to cycle as often as possible as in attempt to save money and get fit...
all good :)

now at the start of the week i wasn't feeling myself, i was feeling a little blue and i've been a quiet as a result. but, i'm getting through it ok and well i've had this with me all week too, sad i know, but it's kinda made me feel better :) now...
the eagle-eyed of you may have noticed yestrerday that a new link was added to the site...for the 365 P(roject)X which is basically just me joining in with some things that other people are doing. basically i'll be putting up a pick of myself every day that i'll take on that day...it's not like HNT, these are going to solely be portraits, i may have a play with them when i get more into photoshop...but at the moment they're just being taken using my phone

ok peeps i've not been feeling too great this week, unknown reasons, well unknown to some, known to me. add to that the new schedule of being busy with work...yeah that's the thing that i've not done for a while, but i'm back in it now. a visit to the dentist and an interview...that's lead to a lack of blogging this week...however i should be back to normal next week with i'm hoping a daily blog post...but we shall see

this was on wednesday morning, it's for a sports centre that's not even built yet...so this was literally just a find out a bit more about me and see what jobs i could do at the centre kind of interview...
it seemed to go pretty well though, i talked a lot, but then that's what this interview was all about...me :)
it'll be a couple of months until i find out what's going on there though...

dentist
was wednesday afternoon, bit of a follow up to last weeks emergency appointment and a check up (needed because i don't like going to the dentist and it's been about 2 years since i last went...)
unfortunately he told me that he wants to take out my other wisdom tooth from the top jaw...there's a couple of fillings as well, these were expected. but worse still was that he's got to refer me to the hospital to have my other wisdom tooth out because it's growing the wrong way and it's so bad that he can't do it himself...
see i'm not a fan of the dentist and it's things like this that make it worse

quite the opposte really...which is odd considering the night and morning i've just had

job front
i've got a job working with a local printing company doing the CAD work for them for 3 months, that's not to say i've stopped looking for a job though because if something else comes up then i'll be looking at taking that... anyway basically the owner of the company is having to go on sick leave from tuesday for at least 3 months, and the other guy that works there isn't very good with a pc, so i've been brought in to do it instead
it's work, it's money coming in and it's experience in yet another field

last night
it was busy in the pub, but that wasn't that unusual, it's been slowly getting busier this year, and besides that was helping me take my mind off the growing pain i was getting in my face. it wasn't just a tooth ache, but most of the upper right jaw was aching. when i got in i thought it'd go away after a while, but at half 3 this morning, i was still awake, so i took some pain killers, they kinda kicked in about an hour later and i must've dropped off to sleep for a while around half 4. i woke up about an hour later and the pain was back :( i slept on and off form then until about 8. i called the dentist and got an emergency slot to go and have them have a look. i was in the dentist for about 2 hours in total because they were trying to fit me in around the other people they'd got booked in for this morning, this wasn't too hot because i was due at work at half 9 this morning, which was the time that i arrived at the dentist's...so after a few x-rays and a poke around the bloke said that my wisdom tooth was showing a lot of signs of decay and the x-ray showed that the nerve was decayed which was why half of my face hurt...

i don't like going and for me to walk in there this morning like i did and feel fine for most of the time was a shock to me, it wasn't until they said that i'd need to have the tooth pulled out that i started to feel bad, especially when they said they would do it there and then because if i was to have the sedation that i normally have, it could be a couple of weeks before i'd get it done. so i sucked it up and had it pulled without the sedation, only the normal injections.
and it was pretty painless :)

and the dentist kept commenting on the "weird" noises that he'd warned me about, but i tried to shut them out (fairly successfully too)
anyway i went to work just in time to get the rush on for lunchtime, thankfully someone had been kind enough to set my area up and prep all the stuff too :)

anyway becase i'm in such a good mood i've chosen something a little funky to listen too...but i just think it's such a bouncy tune and very cool. i'm giving you the video today so please watch it, the idea behind it was that the band emailed everyone on their website's mailing list and asked for home videos so the fans singing along and dancing to the track...they came up with this...
the best bits are the two asian guys, the little boys with his toy drum kit and the weird bloke who points at his bed before jumping on it. the girl in blue is a little weird with her video bits though

last weekend when i went to go and see my mate and get drunk i met a few nice people, one of them has been in touch a lot this week and that's cool. i'd like to get to know her better and i'm hoping that i'll be able to.
as for tango girl, like i said before, that's on hold until later...and now who knows

oh yeah

i've got yet another interview next week, although this one's being touted as an assessment day, it should be good and the job is back in leisure, so it's playing to my experience and strengths i hope. waiting to find out more about it, i've got to do a presentation during the day as well...no idea what that's on yet, the details are coming in the post soon.
i hope i get something soon otherwise i'm going to have to go back and sign on again because the landlord has got a candidate for the vacant chef's position, which will mean that i won't be doing the cold counter anymore...although that also means i won't be slicing bread...got to be positive about these things :)

anyway, i didn't make it home yesterday afternoon, and not because i was working. i killed my car!
basically what happened was i gave someone a lift home, but when i went to pull away from her house i couldn't find first (first was picking up second, second was getting third...) i went to visit chef in the pub next door and have a drink before giving him a lift home, but when we got in the car, it wouldn't pick up anything but 4th...great! anyway we got the car moving around the carpark, but couldn't get out because it was uphill...and uphill in 4th at about 5mph just isn't going to work is it!
called out the RAC to come and look at my car (went back into the pub and had another drink too) called a garage to warn them that we'd be coming over and that i'd need a courtesy car as well.
turns out that i've sheared the link between the gear stick and the gearbox (nice work huh?)
so the car is in the garage for an indetermined length of time, but they are going to sort out a couple of other issues as well for me...
anyway we jumped into the courtesy car, and did the sensible thing (because we both had to be back at our respective pubs in about an hour) and headed to the pub for another drink :)
needless to say when i started at 6 last night, i was in a pretty good mood.
when i got my paycheck, i was in an even better one :D

hey hey peeps
it's friday and i'm late posting for some reason!
yesterday's interview was pretty good, obviously though because of the women involved with the interview on wednesday and the fact that i was interviewed by a bloke yesterday i think i know which one i'd prefer ;)
although the interview yesterday could lead to a job that pays more, i thikn that the one from wednesday would lead to a better job...and that's not because of the women
worked in the pub last night, found out that my friend the chef was sacked on monday. short story is that he wanted the day off, he was told that he could only have it if he found his own cover because the landlord had already made plans. cover was found, but the guy who was due to cover broke his ankle the other week, so couldn't do it. chef was told on friday (according to the notices at work) that he couldn't have the time off as a result. he called in on monday morning and said that he wasn't coming in and would be back in on tuesday. landlord found this unacceptable as chef is a department head and was let go.
this is a shame, because chef is bloody good at what he does, but i know that he's been unhappy there for a while too. anyway as a result landlord is now spending a lot of time in the kitchen, so more hours are available on the bar/waiting. so i agreed to do them.
i respect chef and his choices, and if i had a full time job i might back him up a bit more. but, and i hope he understands this, at the moment i've got to take all the work i can, especially after what the benefit people told me on tuesday (go back and have a look if you want the details). so as much as i feel i might be letting him down by almost siding with the landlord, i've got to do things for me. I've put other people first in the past and that caused a lot of heartache and shit for me, which i'm still dealing with now. right now and for the forseeable future, i'm number one priority, i'm doing things for me now and that's the bottom line.
that means that i worked lunchtime today, easy work, although we were expecting a rush that didn't really happen. the other barmaid has only been on the bar for 3 weeks, and the waitress started last week...but we did well and we were spot on with the till too :)

i feel like it's going to be a long weekend, i've got a pile of things that i need to sort through and get rid of the crap and deal with the rest. i've been invited out clubbing by the girl who split with me because i don't like clubbing...yeah that doesn't make sense to me either, but apparently i'm a good laugh to be around so she' like me to come out with her and her sister...i'm undecided, although i think i know what i'll say...thanks, but no thanks

that friday feeling

ok so yesterday was the "big" interview
it wasn't that big though
and to be honest it wasn't even that clever
but a job would be a job and i need one
but that one was pretty boring
it involved looking at lists and matching things up...that's all
and i've be called a costings assistant...i don't want to a job where i can be abbreviated to being an ass...
still i was expecting to hear something back from them by today, but i've not heard anything as yet.
i was supposed to have heard something back from the intreview from last week by today too, but nothing on that front either...ho-hum

i've got 3 interviews (to date) lined up for next week
one on monday for an interesting sales role...i thought the company was a joke to start with, but apparently they're not...i had a look at their website and i know that doesn't prove they're real, but if they're not someone has a weird sense of humour (but then i guess novak is out there some place too and he's just plain twisted)
one on wednesday for a accounts role of some description, company seem to be good, still waiting for all the details from the agency though about this role, but it sounds way better than the one from yesterday
and one on thursday for a company that i used to work for many years ago, that one should be ok, it's for business manager role in a sports centre, something that i know i can do...
out of the three for next week i'm looking forward to all of them and i've got no real preference as to which (if any) i'd do should i be offered them

had a weird dream the other week
i dreamt that i had a new valve fitted to my heart, then because it didn't work properly, i had a new heart, but i don't think i got a human heart. anyway in the dream i was back up and doing everything again within a couple of days after the operations...weird!
i've had a few weird dreams in the last week or so, but that's the main one that i can remember

25 peeps is still alive, i keep moving around, and i can cope with that, although i'd like to move up a little bit, i'm still in the bottom half of the list...ubt i'm higher today that i was when i checked first thing yesterday morning...so that's ok i can live with that!

i worked again last night and that bloke was in again

although i managed to avoid him by being busy enough to warrant not being at his end of the bar :)

tonight one of the barmaids is having her head shaved for charity...she's raised quite a bit of cash for it...i would be there, but i'm going to the cinema instead, going to watch shooting aces...so expect a review of that tomorrow

nothing much else to say to be honest...

i swallowed my pride yesterday and signed up for "job seekers allowance" previously known as unemployment benefit and the dole...they phoned me this morning at the ungodly hour of 8.20, don't these people realise i've not got a job and as such i spend most of the morning in bed?

anyway they only wanted some details off me about how much money i've got and stuff like that

i thin i lied about some of the details, not intentionally though, i just didn't realised that i'd got more money that i said i had by about £500...oh well!

guess that means i could head over to the US should the winner of the bidding be a resident from there...although it does seem like a long way to go for a date...heh heh
