catching up

ok so i've got a few rants caged up inside me
#1
i want to bitch about pete doherty and amy winehouse
and the image that they are portraying
these two "superstars" have both been in the news recently way too much for drug use. so much so that the actions that they are taking almost glamourise their lifestyle of excessive drug use.
Pete doherty was recently arrested for posession, but because the numb-nut police who arrested him didn't process him and charge him in time (in the uk you have to charge someone within 24 hours of arresting them) he walked away. a month previous he was in court and was told that if he didn't clean up his act he would be imprisoned... so this time there was a lot of speculation about him going to prison.
but he didn't.
my theory is that he got off because he's famous
Amy winehouse has just spent a week in st lucia, after checking into and out of rehab several times this last week, being photographed with scratchmarks, needle tracks and blood on her shoes (alleged to be from injecting heroin between her toes). and what does every one do about it? talk about it. her in laws are suggesting that the public stop buying her records and that the people who sort out awards for artists (such as the mercury music prize which is being awarded in a big ceremony today, which she is supposed to be at) boycott her, her own father has been on the radio admitting that he's begged her to stop, but said that it didn't work. what are her record company doing about it? nothing! what are the police doing? nothing!
this kind of action...or rather non-action will only lead to kids believing that they'll be able to do the same.
fame can put you above the law apparently!

fat people using motorised wheelchairs
these things are for people who can't walk, or elderly. i have no problem with pepole who need to use them because they have a legitimate medical reason. but the fat people who use them, is just wrong! get you fat lazy arses down to the gym, hell just walk to the damned shop instead of getting in the little cart thing...think about it the more they use the cart instead of walking, the fatter they will get!

#3
the police have fined me and given me 3 points on my driving license last week all because i was parked in the wrong place.
ok
i don't mind taking the points or the fine because i was in the wrong...but if where i was parked was as dangerous as the officer was making out, why did he leave me parked there a further 15 minutes while he wrote out all his paperwork? i even said to him should i move the van...he told me not to worry about it.
now that pissed me off...i mean ok, pull me up for parking illegally, fine me, give me points, but surely if i'm in such a bad parking place, let me move, hell, follow me to a decent, safe place to stop and give me all the shit then!

rants over
ok i'm starting my new job in under 2 weeks now :) that should be good
it'll be better than good thinking about it, it's going to be superb because i'll be getting my life back on track!
and in 6 weeks i'm going to be in america, more specifically, i'm going to be in georgia visiting lindsey and doing lots of touristy things while relaxing and having a good time
i can't wait
:)

yay vacation! sounds like you need it ;)

im so with you on the motorized wheelchair thing.

here in Ontario, our medical coverage actually covers 75% of the cost and then 90% of these people are on disability so that pays the other 25%

so here they are running ht e streets with these damn things fully payed for by tax dollars.

the worst is when i see these peoples kids using them to run to the store to get milk or something. no shit. they will actually borrow their mother's/father's chair/scooter because they too are too lazy to walk. it makes me insane.
