right people i've had a pityful response on the bio's from you guys, i've had one and i've got to say it was perfect and just what i was after...so thank you jennifer! the rest of you motley crew, all i'm asking is for a paragraph, something witty and inciteful about you and a pic. anyway back to the song for saturday... this weeks choice is something i've listened to a lot this week, especially in the car, tears and rain by james blunt, i'm really liking this song, it's hitting my in many places. it's reminding me of the past, when i've done things which i regret to an extent, choices i've made and things that were just wrong for me at that time. however it's also hitting me with the line "I guess it's time I run far, far away" because although that's not how i'm feeling, it's what i want to do. some of you know what i mean (natalia)
so that's my song for tomorrow, i'll listen to it several times and i intend to put it on while i'm at work as well tomorrow and make the customers in the pub listen to it as well!

more apologies from me today
sorry peeps, i've been a little more than reglectful of my blog for the last few days.
but the good news is i'm feeling a bit better, the bad news is i'm working more this week than i was last week :(
i've got 4 nights at the pub this week and i did an additional 2 hours last night as well!! but i'm thinking of the money and the fact that i've got my first friday free since sometime in december, but to compensate for that i'm working saturday night instead (this week only) and i've got to stay there because the landlord is away and i'm trust worthy apparently. and he told me it means i can have a couple of pints with the regulars and not have to worry about getting home :)
in other things...well main job work has been ok, just finished a budget price for some lab in bristol...not overly interesting, but pretty easy and only took me 2 days. when i work i can do these things quicker than anyone else here, but it's getting me motivated to work that seems to be the problem!
oh
i have a request for you lovely people that regularly read my blog. i want to put a little boig of all of you on my website as my buddies, so i want some info about you, anything you want to tell me and a pic too if poss...please email them to the address on my profile (putting it back up there now) once it's sorted i'll publish a link for you to have a look at and comment on and all that. muchos gracias in advance :)

No HNT from me
sorry to disappoint guys, but i've been feeling a bit offf this week, was home sick yesterday and half the day before, still suffering the effects of a nasty cold now (bunged up nose, chesty, phlegm-producing cough, headache) but feeling a little better than i have been
so for those who used to read the office blog as well, i've got a little link for you, it's rather amusing...click me...this is chunk, we thought we'd put him up on this site and see how he faired...he's not doing too badly at the moment!

stupid drivers
just a quick rant about stupid drivers
on the way to work this morning a stupid BMW driver cut me up, then made a hand gesture to say it was my fault
i was hoping that this ignoramus was going to stop at the next available opportunity and argue with me as some people have done that before and they soon back down when i unfold my 6'4" frame from my little car, but alas they did not.
i had it all ready for them as well, i was going to give it to them with both barrels as the saying goes
but my wit was wasted.
thing is it was them at fault.
we were at a round about and we were both going straight across, now unless there is a filter on, to go straight across you should be in the outside lane, like i was, but the bmw was in the inside lane...no i know that my 1.4 isn't very quick off the mark, and should've been left for dust compared to the 2.8 bmw engine, but it wasn't and i was level with this other car most of the way across the roundabout, it was only when i got the turn off that they put their foot down and cut me off (bastard)
i had this ready for them too...
"thanks for cutting me up you ignorant prick. why don't you look up an online copy of the highway code when you get to your nice office, instead of looking up porn and fantasising about your secretary who you'll never get because you're old, balding and boring and she'd much rather have someone like me instead. once you're looking at the highway code, i suggest reading the section on roundabouts and you'll realise that you were in the wrong, so tomorrow when i see you and you try to cut me up again, you'll wave me through and apologise for having your head up your arse!"
but like i said this pillock thought he was king of the road and ignored me
you'll all be pleased to know that, contrary to the implications of the above, i'm actually in a much better mood today as well :)

that friday feeling? (being edited and added to through the day)
HELL NO!!!
this is a warning, this post probably isn't going to be a great read and more than likely will be disjointed and random in places
8am
so i got up and was sick this morning, by 7 am i'd thrown up 3 times :(
but seeing as i hadn't eaten anything since about 7pm the night before there was nothing to come up apart from spit and stomach acid...not cool, very not cool
I'm being moved off of the friday night shift at the pub, for one reason or another, and i'm being switched to a sunday. i think that's going to be better for me because not only am i getting a little more responsibility as i'll be cashing up and locking up at the end of the night, it means i'll not be working back to back long days anymore, 8-5 and then 6-11.30+ on a thursday and then a friday too doing this is not cool...very not cool
work has been a bit pants too as you may have guessed from the previous post! just another thing that's not cool...very not cool
however on the cool side of things, i heard from a mate who i've not seen in over a year, but i'm told that he does pop in here from time to time and check up on me as it were. anyway, he's getting married in a few months and wants me to go, so that's cool...very cool
but it does mean i'll have to hunt out my suit, check it still fits, get it cleaned and all that, but it'll be worth it!

i've got one quote out this morning already and it's only half 9, add that to the one i got out yesterday, that only leaves me the one i'm working on now, the one that needs to go out on monday and the one that i've just got...well they're are the ones i have right now, but i know there are a couple of others on the horizon :o(

that's another quote done...but think of the trees here, this one was 60 pages long, we keep a hardcopy and send one to the client, except this client has requested multiple copies of the quote (why he can't just print them off himself i'll never know, but hey!)
just had the email for the next one too, this one will be "interesting" as it's the 9th revision to the base quote, i'm sure we should've been charging them for the additional revisions that we've made to this one...it's getting beyond a joke! every couple of weeks the sales manager calls me and says "you'll never guess what...they want another revision done!" this time they want some rear panels, some locks and want some things we added for them last revision, removed for this one!!! can you say "PISS TAKE!!"?
and that is what i spend my day doing...well that and obviously blogging about it too lol

that's the 3rd quote to leave my hands today! that was a little one (the 8th revision though and seemingly pointless)
but i've just been handed a fax, 17 pages in total regarding something i quoted 6 weeks ago and how the QS thinks that i've got the wrong size on the units, trouble is if i have got the wrong sizes it'll be monday before anyone can get me new prices and even then they'll probably take a day or two to get them to me...and the QS is hoping for a letter on monday with the revised price and missing items included...we missed them out because they're non-standard items, things like whiteboards, which i've now sourced and priced, we were €30k - €40k under the others tendering for this project, i've added in the white boards and some sinks i'd missed as well and added €42k, if these units are also going to be special constructions then i'm looking at probably adding to that even further...great, way to be competitive on price!!!
also been chatting to woja, we're thinking of heading to see the wrestling again sometime this year so that'll be cool :D
well best get back to it :(

i went through the 17 page fax, working out what they wanted and what we'd offered were different things, in so far as what i'd priced was almost what the wanted, except everything was out by 90 degrees, they wanted a 1200mm high unit, i'd offered a 1200 wide unit because that was what made sense, even the sales manager said that she'd have done the same thing, so that's ok :)
throat hurts
didn't do a pub lunch either today...didn't feel like it and wanted to crack on with work
but now i'm at the wall and i'm stuck
can't do anymore

it just goes to show (if you're here for HNT it's below this post)
if you start the day in a positive way
you set yourself up for a fall
i was happy this morning
i'd had a good night out last night and was on a positive high for the day
but gradually work has dragged me down and down and down
i'm now so deep down that i can't see the light for the piles of shite work that i have on my desk
stupid proposals that are worthless and meaningless and generally realy crappy
projects that want the smallest of details changed which involved re-pricing everything, adjusting the figures to suit the sales team, the MD and the client, re issuing the document to the right people, once you've found out who the right people are that is, then there's the back log of tidying things up afterwards, copying files onto different servers so different people can find them, printing off hard copies of EVERYTHING used to make the quote up and then filing it all in the temperamental (emphasise mental when you read that back again later) filing cupboard in files that are too big to fit inside the hangers.
it's all crap
and i want to go home
but i can't because tonight i'm working in the pub!!!
i knew i should've brought my laptop with me, i could've done something useful while i was at the pub tonight, serving the 0 customers we have on a thursday (last week there were 3 people in and 5 staff, which gradually declined to the point of there being no customers and 5 staff)
somebody please take me away from all this

monday morning blues...on a monday afternoon!
keeping me sane is proving fairly hard at the moment what with the lack of sleep and everything!
had to excuse myself early on friday night from my shift at the pub as i could feel myself falling asleep and i knew i'd start getting grouchy with someof the locals as well, thankfully some of the more irritating ones weren't in
the weekend passed fairly uneventfully...with the exception of spanish's house warming party...click here to go see, pictures will follow as soon as i've got round to dealing with them...but there are some very cool pics, and some even better videos :D
sunday was my day to chill, but i didn't manage all that much chilling
and then it was back to work today...the grind that it is...
been trying to get prices for various things...one supplier has made me wait pretty much all day before faxing me a little note "sorry we are unable to supply the above items" needless to say i was well impressed, but if they can't do it, that's fair enough, but they could've told me a little earlier...ho-hum
tonight is quiz night, although i'm not 100% sure i'll be attending as i should really try to get another early night, i say early, but we all know it'll be after midnight before i get to sleep, so i guess i may as well head out and enjoy myself :)

so I took her to my crib

but when she got undressed
